Some family members of the late content creator Brian Chira Wambui have reportedly distanced themselves from his burial arrangements.
The announcement was relayed by fellow TikToker Baba Talisha, who has been providing updates online since Chira’s passing.
Chira’s remains will depart from the Kenyatta University (KU) mortuary for burial in Githunguri on the specified date.
“The burial will take place on March 26 in Githunguri. Viewing of the body will commence at 6:00 am at KU, followed by a mass service at the same location,” Baba Talisha said.
According to Baba Talisha, Chira will be laid to rest at his grandmother’s ancestral home.
However, he says some relatives from the grandmother’s side have declined association with his passing, and thus may not be present at the burial.
“Only immediate family and members of the church will have access to his final resting place,” Baba Talisha clarified.
Transport arrangements for content creators wishing to attend Chira’s burial will be coordinated individually.
Additionally, a candlelight vigil in honour of Chira will be held at a central location in Nairobi, with details to be communicated at a later date.
Chira’s family will craft his eulogy, a heartfelt tribute to commemorate his life and achievements.
In accordance with a special request from his grandmother, Chira will be dressed in a graduation gown during the funeral proceedings, honouring his academic excellence as a bright student who achieved an impressive A- in high school.
Details regarding the necessary budget for Chira’s burial expenses will be shared once a Paybill account number is made available.
Chira met a tragic fate as he was involved in a fatal collision with a speeding vehicle during the early hours of Saturday, March 16.
According to police reports, Chira succumbed to injuries sustained after being hit by a speeding vehicle.
His body was transferred to the City Mortuary, displaying injuries to the forehead.
Fans and several celebrities have united to support the family in gathering funds to provide him with a dignified farewell. A postmortem was performed on March 18, ahead of his burial.
May Chira’s soul rest in peace.
