Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) side Bungoma Queens head coach Robert Machio says they will not underrate Equity Queens after the two teams were paired in the FKF Women’s Cup preliminary round.

In an interview with Citizen Digital, Machio noted that Equity who play in the Division One league is a strong team and are therefore bracing for a tough encounter.

He said they will approach one game at a time with their main target being to bag the Cup.

“We are prepared to meet with them and we’ll handle them the way we handle premier league teams. We won’t underestimate them. If we play well we’ll qualify for the quarters then later semi- finals and that is our target,” said Machio.

At the same time, Machio admitted they are in a race against time to avoid relegation in the KWPL where they sit ninth with nine points after 11 outings.

They will be up against league leaders Police Bullets and Zetech Sparks in their next two fixtures.

“We are preparing well. We are not standing at a very good position in the chart. If we win our two upcoming matches; against Police Bullets and Zetech Sparks, we’ll earn ourselves some good points,” Machio stated.
