A man who found himself face to face with two armed robbers late at night walked away unharmed after making a split-second decision that likely saved him from serious harm, according to CCTV footage that has since circulated widely online.

The recording captured the incident at around 11 pm on September 15, showing the man standing near a gate along a dimly lit road, absorbed in his phone and oblivious to what was approaching from behind.

Man Surrenders Phone Before Robbers Can Act

Within seconds, a motorbike carrying two passengers pulled up and stopped just behind him. The man glanced back and immediately clocked the threat; one of the men had a machete in hand.

Rather than freeze or resist, he made a calculated move: the moment one of the men touched his back, he handed over his phone himself, without waiting to be asked.

The two robbers quickly boarded the waiting motorbike as the man stood rooted to the spot, visibly shaken.
