Barcelona will be in Pot 1 when the draw for the 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League group stage is conducted later this year.

This comes after it was confirmed that AS Roma won’t play in the competition.

Atalanta needed to finish fifth in Serie A for Roma to get a spot.

But the newly-crowned Europa League champions hammered Torino 3-0 to finish in the top four.

Roma will take up a place in the Europa League.

The additional spot will go to Bologna, who finished in fifth place.

Barcelona would also have been overtaken for a place in Pot 1 by Bayer Leverkusen, if they won the Europa League final.

The draw for the group stage takes place on Thursday, August 29.

POT 1

Manchester City
Bayern Munich
Real Madrid
Paris Saint-Germain
