Hughes expressed his delight at the opportunity to observe Oduor and the club’s other new signings in action during the intense encounter. Speaking to Yorkshire Post, Hughes stated, “It was an opportunity to have a look at him there as well.”

Hughes explained that Oduor’s versatility led to the club signing him as he can feature in several positions.

“He’s come here because of his ability but also because of his flexibility. He can play in a number of positions.”

The Kenyan international’s composure on the ball and his ability to see opportunities for incisive passes stood out to the Bradford manager.

“You can see Clarke’s got good quality on the ball, he’s comfortable in possession and can see a pass. I was pleased with what he produced,” added Hughes.

Oduor’s arrival at Bradford City AFC marked the team’s first significant signing of the summer in June. His impressive performances during his tenure at Barnsley left a lasting impact on the club, making him a sought-after acquisition for Bradford.

With 57 appearances for Barnsley under his belt, Oduor showcased his versatility, excelling in both defensive and offensive roles.

A memorable highlight was his vital goal against Brentford on the final day of the 2019/20 season, securing Barnsley’s place in the second tier for another year.

Oduor was eligible for both the Kenyan national team and the England national team. He made his senior debut for Kenya in a 2–1 friendly win over Zambia in October 2020
