According to the report from the US Embassy in Nairobi, Blinken also called for investigations into allegations of human rights abuses during a conversation with President Ruto on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at night.

The conversation between the US Secretary of State and President Ruto, came shortly after President Ruto announced the withdrawal of the Finance Bill 2024 and sending it back to the National Assembly.

In a statement attributable to Spokesperson Matthew Miller, the US Secretary of State, Blinken reiterated the partnership of the United States with Kenya’s government and people as they work to address their economic challenges.
