The Magistrates Court is set to provide directions today in a case involving six individuals accused of violently robbing two people along Waiyaki Way on the same night that late Kabete MP George Muchai was murdered.

The defendants, including Erick Muyera Isabwa, Raphael Kimani, Mustafa Kimani, Stephen Asitiva Lipapo, Jane Wanjiru Kimani, Margaret Njeri, and Simon Wambugu Gichamba, were found to have a case to answer and are currently at the stage of defending themselves against the charges.

The accused individuals allegedly violently robbed Gladys Waithera of a motor vehicle valued at Sh600,000 in Green Belt estate, Wangige, Kiambu County, while armed with a G3 rifle and pistols, alongside others not present in court. They are also accused of stealing other valuables from Waithera and threatening her with actual violence. Additionally, they allegedly robbed another victim, Michael Gituto, of a vehicle and personal property worth Sh416,000 on February 6 along Waiyaki Way.

At this stage of the trial, the defendants have requested the court to recall some of the prosecution witnesses for cross-examination regarding the evidence they have presented before proceeding with their defense.
