Do’s and dont’s in Nairobi CBD

There have been increased cases of nonviolent theft in Nairobi CBD.

Whereby the victims have been maliciously deceived in that one can just touch or speak to you asking for something and that’s how you get zombified and hypnotized and do anything your attackers want from emptying your Mpesa, giving them your phone, taking your expensive outfits, and all your valuables and they might even take your shoes.

There is also a way that someone hands you their card, and the drug is instantly absorbed by your skin and you just do anything they want you to.

The “drug” or “witchcraft” has been used on several Nairobians and while describing the whole situation, it seemed so scary.

Here are ways in which you can use at least to be safe when running your errands in Nairobi town.

1. Walk as fast as possible

Be brisk and walk as fast as you can to throw off anyone who may be following you since you’ll rest in the Matatu or wherever you are going.

These people might have noticed you and will try as much as possible to conceal their motives and keeping up with a fast-walking target is a sell-out they’d rather not risk.

Walking fast prevents you from being noticed by perpetrators, it also makes you look like you know where you are going.

2. Keep your phone and valuables out of sight

Make sure that you keep everything valuable in your bag or pockets.

Don’t walk around with electronics in shallow pockets since thieves can see them and can detect you as an easy target.

3. Avoid speaking to strangers

Don’t talk to anyone in that avoid responding to strangers because this is the main way they get your attention and bewitch you with whatever they use to zombify and freeze your brain then take your things without any of their energy.

If someone starts a conversation with you, ignore them. If they ask for your help, politely decline, or better yet, ignore them. If you don’t know who is trustworthy, it’s better to trust nobody but yourself. You need to be careful because you can be drugged in seconds and not know it.

It’s just better to assume and take everyone as a thief.

4. Do not use headphones or earphones while you are walking in the CBD

Listening to music can distract you from your immediate environment and any interruption could lead you into deep trouble by being their target.

5. Suspect Everyone

Thieves don’t always look like thieves. Just because someone sounds friendly, looks friendly, educated, or even wealthy doesn’t mean they are.

There’s a reason they are called con men.

They find ways to manipulate you into thinking that they are legitimate people.
