A Kenyan motorist caused a stir after he refused to pull over and instead drove off with a police officer who had reportedly entered his car uninvited, demanding the officer show proof that he had actually committed any offence.
The confrontation, captured on video, showed the driver visibly agitated as he drove while the officer inside tried to get him to stop.
Driver Calls Out Officer Over Alleged Corruption
Rather than comply, the motorist turned the encounter into a public rebuke, accusing the officer of abusing his authority and targeting ordinary citizens in a struggling economy.
“False evidence, I want you people to know this, don’t call me your brother now, and I swear if you don’t have evidence, I am going to sue all of you. You should know everyone is struggling with the current economy, corrution must end in this country,” the driver said.
The officer, for his part, tried to calm the situation and asked to be let out of the vehicle.
The driver eventually pulled over but continued pressing the officer, demanding to know his name and asking him to produce CCTV footage to justify the stop.
“Get out of my car, what right do you have to be in my car, you are abusing your power, what is your name my friend, tell me your name, show me the CCTV footage, where are you goig,” the man said, following the officers with his camera as they walked away.
The officer’s only response before leaving was a casual remark:
“It’s not like we cannot leave the car; it is not even hard.”
