A seemingly ordinary errand at a car wash in Eldoret turned alarming after an attendant allegedly drove a client’s vehicle into a building in the Chemichemi Block 2 area of Langas, leaving himself with serious injuries.

The car had been dropped off at a wash bay near Panvilla in Pioneer, where the owner left it in the attendant’s care.

Attendant Hurt

What happened next has puzzled many: the vehicle somehow ended up far from where it was left, crashing into a building in Langas.

The force of the collision was visible in images taken at the scene, which showed the vehicle with significant damage after it struck the structure.

The attendant was reported to have suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash in the car said to belong to an aspirant for the Racecourse Ward seat.

However, the full sequence of events leading from the wash bay to the crash site had not been established by the time of reporting.

Langas Residents Left Shaken

It remains unclear whether the attendant was attempting to reposition the vehicle, took it for an unauthorised drive, or whether a mechanical issue played a role.

The crash drew a crowd of concerned residents and passers-by in the Langas area, many of whom were alarmed both by the visible damage to the building and by the attendant’s condition.

Further details on the exact cause of the incident and the full extent of the injuries sustained are expected to emerge as authorities and witnesses piece together what took place.
