Two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge, along with three others, has been sued over the purchase of a contested property valued at Ksh.100 million in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County. The lawsuit was filed by Joyce Komen, wife of former athlete Daniel Komen, who claims that Kipchoge and the other defendants bought the property without her consent.
In the case presented before Eldoret High Court Judge Reuben Nyakundi, Mrs. Komen alleges that her husband sold their matrimonial property without her knowledge. The other defendants in the case include athlete Brimin Kipruto and two businessmen from Eldoret, who also own a portion of the disputed property.
Mrs. Komen, a university lecturer, expressed her shock upon learning of the sale, stating that she had contributed a substantial amount of money towards the property. She contends that the property, worth Ksh.100 million, was sold for a mere Ksh.10 million. In her petition, she has requested the court to nullify the sale, arguing that the transaction and subsequent transfer of the title deed were illegal.
