Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is set to become the highest-paid manager in the club’s history, according to the UK Mirror.

The Spaniard is in a strong bargaining position as he prepares for new contract talks this summer.

Arteta has one year left on his current deal and has established himself as one of Europe’s top young managers.

The 42-year-old, who was appointed in December 2019, can expect to become the highest-paid manager in Arsenal’s history.

Arteta has won the FA Cup and two Community Shields, finishing behind Manchester City in two consecutive Premier League seasons.

He will also get assurances that the club shares his ambition to compete at the highest level.
