Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has named Youri Tielemans as the Red Devils player who must now step up after midfielder Carlos Baleba sustained an injury.
Recall that Baleba picked up a hamstring injury during Man United’s 3-2 win against AS Roma in the Champions League in mid-week.
Baleba was replaced by Tielemans in the 51st minute of the encounter at Old Trafford.
Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast about the player who must step up after Baleba’s injury, Ferdinand said, “Great to see Tielemans back in. Let’s hope he continues.
“I think you look at somebody like him, especially with Baleba being injured now, you want to make sure he goes on a little run and gets some form, gets the level up and becomes a part of it.”
Baleba is expected to miss Man United’s clash with Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday and Tielemans could take his place in the starting XI.
