Arsenal opened a four-point gap between themselves and Premier League champions Manchester City, thanks to a 5-0 hammering of Chelsea on Tuesday night.
The Gunners had gone top of the league with a 2-0 win at Wolves.
At the Emirates, Mikel Arteta’s men outclassed the Blues.
Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the first half, before Kai Havertz (twice) and Ben White (twice) sealed a big victory for Arsenal.
The result takes them up to 77 points, three more than Liverpool, who are away at Everton on Wednesday.
City travel to Brighton on Thursday.
