Arsenal kept their hopes of winning the Premier League title alive with a 2-0 win over Leicester City.

Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta, fielded a team without a recognised striker, due to the hamstring injury suffered by Kai Havertz this week.

Havertz is expected to miss the rest of this campaign.

Raheem Sterling, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri led the attack for Arsenalbut failed to create enough chances to score.

In the second half, Arteta introduced Mikel Merino to play in a false nine position, as they chased a late goal.

First, Merino rose highest in the box to head in Nwaneri’s cross, before he tapped in Trossard’s pass from the left.

The win takes Arsenal up to 53 points, four behind leaders Liverpool, who welcome Wolves to Anfield on Sunday.
