Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested for leading protests in the streets of Nairobi.
Omondi staged demonstrations outside Parliament buildings on Tuesday, February 21, over what he termed as the high cost of living.
He was accompanied by several other shirtless men with chains hanging around their necks in an attempt to seek attention from National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
The protesters held placards with writings showing the expensive prices of commodities including maize flour and electricity.
“Unga juu, mafuta juu. Stima juu, taxi juu” the placards read.
It wasn’t long before he is seen engaging in an altercation while resisting police officers before they hurled him up into the police car.
