Comedian and activist Eric Omondi has addressed growing questions about why content creator Georgina Njenga is only allowed visits from two people during her stay at Chiromo Hospital Group in Lavington, Nairobi.

“Yes…Only the Mother and the Daughter can see her for now. Let’s give her Space and Time to recover,” Eric wrote in a statement that quickly spread online.

The chain of events began on October 1, when Eric put out a public appeal asking Kenyans to help locate Georgina after she shared a series of alarming posts on her Instagram Stories.

Concern deepened after she was spotted outside GTC Westlands appearing visibly distressed, with members of the public stepping in.

Eric, who has previously spoken out on mental health in Kenya, said the situation was too serious to ignore.

“We watched Stoopid Boy deteriorate before our eyes. We will not lose another person,” he said, adding that “her daughter needs her and she is ni okay at all.”

By October 2 he confirmed he had found Georgina alongside her mother, Alice Wairiru, and taken her straight to Chiromo Hospital Group.

He described the facility as offering the best mental health services available. Videos from her first day showed Eric bringing her fruits, helping her with a hoodie, and walking with her around the hospital compound.

“Day 1 of 90… The 1st days are the hardest, but our sister will come out victorious,” he captioned the post.

Reports indicate the hospital waived her treatment bill so the family could concentrate entirely on her recovery.

King Bizzy claims he was blocked

The restricted visiting arrangement sparked a public row when Georgina’s ex-boyfriend, content creator King Bizzy, claimed he had been denied access and alleged that Georgina told him she did not feel safe. He publicly demanded Eric clarify who was being allowed in.

Eric’s answer was brief and direct: for now, only her mother and her daughter.

Medical observers and supporters have defended the policy, noting that limiting visitors during the early phase of a 90-day inpatient programme is standard practice, designed to protect patients from external triggers and give them a calm space to heal.

Two of Georgina’s friends, identified as Sarah and another companion, also addressed the matter in a TikTok video.

“Ni the parents ndio wanaitikiwa waende waone Georgina. And if you go there, you should be in a position to ask, useme wewe ni nani na nimekuja kuona Georgina,” one of them said, adding that Georgina was safe.

Entertainment commentator Sabato also criticised King Bizzy’s public pressure, pointing out that Georgina had barely begun her treatment and deserved space to heal.

Eric has stayed out of the back-and-forth, choosing instead to ask Kenyans to offer Georgina privacy, prayers and patience as she works through what is expected to be a 90-day recovery programme.
