Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, has slammed forward Ousmane Dembele following France’s Euro 2024 semi-final 2-1 defeat to Spain on Tuesday.

Shearer said the Paris Saint-Germain attacker was guilty of missing several good scoring chances for France against La Roja during the encounter.

goals from Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo gave Spain the victory over France.

“Dembele was probably more guilty than anyone in terms of being wasteful when he got into good positions,” Shearer said on BBC.

“It’s so frustrating when you get there and you are delivering balls [into the box] which aren’t good time after time.

“When you are in that position, you have to be expected to do better than what he’s done – he had plenty of guys in there and he kept hitting crosses straight at the keeper.”
