Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez has identified his former club teammate Cristiano Ronaldo as a “great goalscorer” as Portugal is set to commence their Euro 2024 against Czech Republic on Tuesday.
The Portuguese icon had a stunning campaign with Al Nassr, scoring 50 goals in all competitions for the Knights of Najid.
His goals include the 35 he netted in the Saudi Pro League, which earned him the league’s Golden Boot.
Attention has now been shifted to the UEFA EURO 2024, where he is expected to lead his team in Germany.
Portugal will play their opening game against the Czech Republic in Group F in Leipzig on Tuesday.
As always, Ronaldo will be a key player for the Selecao and is among the top favourites for the competition’s top scorer award too.
Spain International, Vazquez reserved special praise for the Portugal frontman when asked for his opinion on Ronaldo by Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.
He said: “Yes, I follow him. He scored 35 goals this season, and these are very good numbers. Cristiano has always shown that he is a great goalscorer, a great player, and I think he had a great season.”
