Tusker Defender Eugene Asike Cautious of Nzoia Sugar Threat
Tusker defender Eugene Asike is cautious of the threat posed by Nzoia Sugar as they gear up for their clash in the FKF Premier League on Monday afternoon.
Asike acknowledges the potential challenge, recognizing Nzoia’s determination to secure points and avoid relegation, which heightens the intensity of the match. With Tusker aiming to finish the season strongly, Asike, serving as assistant captain, stresses the team’s need for determination and commitment to secure victory.
A win against Nzoia Sugar would keep Tusker within striking distance of the top two teams in the league.
“We expect a very tough game from Nzoia because it is a team that believes it can still stay in the league. It will not be an easy match. We have to go out there and show great desire and commitment to win the game as a team,” Asike conveyed to Tusker FC media.
Asike remains confident despite the challenges posed by heavy rains disrupting training sessions, assuring that the team is mentally and physically prepared to face Nzoia. Drawing on their recent victory against Ulinzi Stars, Asike emphasizes the confidence boost gained, which they intend to carry forward into the remaining matches of the season.
“The win against Ulinzi was really crucial because it has brought back the feel-good factor in the team, and we are looking forward to carrying that into the remaining seven matches of the season,” Asike noted.
