Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued to fault the Social Health Authority (SHA) medical cover introduced by President William Ruto’s administration.
According to the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) party leader, the medical cover is currently benefiting Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, whom he claimed receives millions through a proxy company located in Dubai.
“SHA will collapse any minute,” said the former DP during a church service in Murang’a on Sunday.
Gachagua further argued that teachers in Kenya have had trouble accessing health services since they were fully onboarded on the SHA cover last year.
“Teachers are in trouble after moving from MINET … consultation is Ksh.3,500. Last expenses are not covered in SHA. Teachers of Kenya should confront their union leaders who’ve been corrupted by SHA,” said Gachagua.
He went on to challenge his former boss to ensure that hospitals in the country are well-equipped.
Gachagua also weighed in on the increasing cases of political violence in Kenya, faulting Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, whom he labelled as ‘perpetrators of goonism’. He further alleged that the Head of State is also using goons to bring fights in communities.
The former DP did not spare his successor, Kithure Kindiki, whom he accused of derailing the war against illicit brew in Mt. Kenya region.
“I cannot forgive you for sabotaging the fight against illicit brew. Kindiki, as much as you’re crying, you have to go home,” he said.
