Garissa County Commissioner Boaz Cherutich has warned students not to attack teachers in school, saying those found guilty will face the full force of the law.

He also urged parents and teachers to work together to reduce incidents of school misconduct.

His comments came after a scuffle with a class 6 student left a school teacher with serious injuries.

According to reports, the student attacked his teacher after he was asked why he had yet to attend classes since schools re-opened.

The student is said to have left the school after a scuffle only to return shortly after, armed with a knife which he used to stab the teacher in the ear.
