Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reaffirmed his support for Generation Z, commending them for their ongoing protests against the government. As a prominent critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration, Musyoka has consistently aligned himself with the youth who have intensified pressure on the government.

In a post on X on Sunday, July 21, 2024, the former Mwingi North MP praised the youth for reclaiming their country from the ruling party and highlighted their unwavering commitment as deserving of recognition.

“Presiding Bishop Akiki Muyu, what you have done today at The Gospel Tabernacle Church, South B, Nairobi, is prophetic. We have gotten back what belongs to us, and we praise the Almighty God.

“Gen Z has also taken our country back from the clutches of the KK (Kenya Kwanza) regime using our Constitution. They have been reminding us of the Preamble of our Constitution, and we thank them for their unrelenting consistency.

“They have brought a spirit of reawakening to Kenya. It is truly amazing, and we give God all the glory,” the 2007 presidential candidate said.

“This is a betrayal of the Kenyan people, particularly Gen Z and millennials, who have paid the ultimate price to rid this country of the disastrous Kenya Kwanza regime, their harsh taxes (Finance Bill 2023/2024), corruption, tribalism, unemployment, and the continued high cost of living.

Before President William Ruto revealed his first set of cabinet nominees, Kalonzo Musyoka spearheaded a faction of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition in rejecting any attempt to create a broad-based government with the Kazi ni Kazi party.

In a press release on Friday, July 19, 2024, Musyoka, along with Eugene Wamalwa and Jeremiah Kioni of Jubilee, condemned the idea of forming a national unity government with Kenya Kwanza, labeling it a betrayal of Generation Z.

“We shall not join for the straightforward reason that such actions are a betrayal of the ideology, values, and tenets of both our coalition party and our constituent parties. As long as the Kenya Kwanza regime remains in place, absolutely nothing will change. A cabinet re-organisation and changing of office holders will only be cosmetic,” the Azimio section of leaders said then, as Raila Odinga was missing.
