Despite not having secured a win since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton expressed optimism about Mercedes’ future prospects. He noted that the team had finally discovered their “North Star” in the ongoing effort to develop their car. Hamilton highlighted the encouraging directional breakthrough and praised the energy and resilience of the team.

Speaking ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the first race in Europe this year following six flyaway rounds worldwide, Hamilton and his Mercedes teammate George Russell emphasized their confidence in the team’s durability. Despite Mercedes’ struggles for performance and their failure to secure a podium finish this season, both drivers remained impressed by the team’s resilience and determination.

“There is a long way to go,” said Hamilton. “But I am excited with what I know we have coming in the pipe-line now. We have found our North Star and we know what we want to do and what to change.

“The energy in the team is amazing. They are so resilient and continue to push all the time even though we have been knocked down quite a few times this year.”
