The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall advisory, warning Kenyans to brace for intensified rains across several parts of the country from May 7 to May 14, 2026.
In the advisory issued on Thursday, the weatherman warned that rainfall currently being experienced in parts of the Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, as well as the Central Highlands and Southeastern Lowlands, is expected to intensify to more than 20mm within 24 hours.
According to the department, the rains are expected to peak between May 10 and May 13 before gradually reducing in intensity from May 14.
