Raila Odinga has announced that he will not quit active Kenyan politics as he vies the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairmanship.

Speaking at Ligisa Secondary School in Rangee Constituency when he attended a thanksgiving ceremony for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairperson Gladys Wanga, Odinga said vying for the AUC seat does not warrant anybody to count him out of Kenyan politics.

“I am not going without coming back. I am still here,” he said.

The ODM leader also assured that the party, which he designated to Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, will continue to promote democracy in the country.

He expressed confidence in winning the AUC seat.
In what further implied that Odinga may not quit active Kenyan politics soon, the National Assembly Minority Leader June Mohammed warned ODM politicians against any plans to succeed Odinga.

He announced that the party will soon wage a war against ODM politicians involved in succession politics.

ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga warned that Odinga’s post should not be tampered with. She expressed optimism to strengthen the party after acquiring the new post.
