Boniface Imbenzi, the team manager of Kakamega Homeboyz, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back from their recent 1-0 loss to Kenyan Police in the FKF-PL. Despite the setback, Imbenzi believes Homeboyz will return to winning ways in their upcoming match against Bidco United.

The team is focused on improving their form and will be visiting Bidco United in Nairobi next weekend to secure a positive result.

“To all Kakamega Homeboyz fans, I want to assure you that our team will bounce back to winning ways in the next match.

“The boys will be encouraged and will have to perform better, I have no doubt about that,” assured Imbenzi.

Imbenzi says his charges must be motivated to get their season on track to avoid negating their bright start to this season’s campaign.

“But we played against a good side, and I only realize that at least the morale of the team is not the way it has been all through.

“I think after we played against KCB in the FKF Cup (quarter-final) match and lost, the boys were demoralized because they had hoped to go all the way and defend the title and represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“Our players were shocked by the defeat because we were confident we could win back-to-back titles two years, a dream that evaporated with the loss to KCB,” Imbenzi reverted.

Following the loss to Police FC, the team led by Patrick Odhiambo now occupies the seventh position in the standings with 40 points. They are trailing behind AFC Leopards by just one point.
