Police are investigating a disturbing incident in Mbeere, Embu, where a mother allegedly stabbed her 19-year-old daughter during a dispute over the girl’s decision to drop out of school. The altercation, which took place over the weekend, escalated into violence when the mother picked up a knife and stabbed her daughter in the pelvic area. The injured girl was rushed to Kimbimbi Subcounty Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities reported that the mother, the main suspect in the case, fled the scene immediately following the attack, and efforts to apprehend her are ongoing.

In a separate incident in Kiamaciri, Kirinyaga, a man was fatally stabbed by his brother during a quarrel. Police revealed that the disagreement between 34-year-old Simon Macharia and his brother led to the latter stabbing him in the left side of the chest with a kitchen knife. The injury caused a deep cut, resulting in severe blood loss and ultimately the victim’s death. Police have processed the scene, and the body has been taken to Kibugi Funeral Home for preservation pending an autopsy. The investigation into this case is also underway.
