The family of Jackline Wangui Njoroge, a receptionist who went missing from Nakuru townand was found dead in a quarry eight days later, has released her postmortem report as they seek answers over her alleged killing.

Wangui, who worked at Leopard Hotel along Kanu Street in Nakuru, was last captured on CCTV footage on the evening of August 14, 2026, stepping out of the hotel alongside an unidentified woman at around 8pm. The two boarded a motorbike and rode off. She never came home.
Her family reported her disappearance at Bondeni Police Station and mounted a search campaign on social media, hoping for good news. Instead, on August 22, her body was recovered from a quarry in Kagoto, Bahati Constituency.
The findings shared by the family paint a deeply disturbing picture of what Wangui allegedly endured in her final hours.

According to the postmortem report, her right ribs were broken, and she was reportedly held for more than 36 hours before being strangled.
The revelations have intensified the family’s calls for a thorough and speedy investigation, with relatives demanding to know who was with Wangui after she left the hotel and who was responsible for her death.
Wangui was laid to rest on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Kiambu county, in a ceremony marked by grief and unanswered questions.

She had suffered serious head injuries, which first raised suspicions that her death was not accidental.
Police opened investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death and have been working to establish the identity of the woman seen leaving the hotel with her on the night she disappeared.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with information about Wangui’s movements on the night of August 14 to come forward and report to the nearest police station.
