Late CGTN journalist Nick Mudimba will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Dudi, Gem constituency, Siaya County, on April 5, 2025.
In preparation for the funeral, daily memorial services are being held at the deceased’s home, beginning at 5:30 pm.
“Daily meetings are being held at Shaba Village, Syokimau, house no. B38 from 5:30 pm. Burial date has been set for April 5, 2025, at Gem, Dudi,” reads a death announcement seen by Citizen Digital.
“Travel to Gem has been set for April 4, 2025.”
Further, a requiem mass to honour Mudimba’s life and work will be held at the Holy Family Basilica on Thursday, April 3.
Additionally, a fundraising event has been organized for Sunday, March 30, at 3:00 pm, at Mudimba’s residence, House No. B38, in Shaba Village.
Mudimba tragically passed away on Sunday after suddenly collapsing at his home.
Reports indicate that Mudimba was undergoing treatment after developing health complications, including high uric acid levels.
According to his family, the famed journalist took his prescribed medication, only for him to collapse and begin convulsing.
Mudimba later died at home and his body taken to a morgue in Syokimau.
