Singer Jovial has broken her silence following Otile Brown’s recent social media posts, dismissing several of his remarks and insisting that the issue has always been about receiving what she believes is her rightful share from their music collaborations.
In a series of messages shared on her Instagram Stories on Monday, July 13, 2026, the singer questioned Otile’s statements about supporting her financially and challenged him to provide proof of the payments he referred to.
Jovial began by rejecting Otile’s claims that he had paid for her songs and hospital bills, saying she had her own understanding of how the agreements were handled.
“Paid which songs and hospital bill? Because, for my part, I know I sealed a deal with Komarock. You don’t pay people, and you are selfish. When a person speaks up or cries for their rights, they are called arrogant. You just want quiet and stupid people to manipulate,” she wrote.

Calls for proof of payments
The singer maintained that the discussion should focus on the money she believes she is owed rather than personal attacks.
According to Jovial, she had previously raised concerns about her earnings and said small payments only came after she complained. “If you go back to the interview, I said, ‘When I was complaining, that’s when a small cheque would come in to silence me.’ You were only supposed to explain why I’m not getting my percentage; that’s it. You trembled and started talking nonsense,” she said.
She also challenged Otile to publicly provide evidence of any payments he says he made towards her music. “Go ahead and send receipts of the conversation where you paid for my song so I can see. It should be a conversation, please, like the one I’ve posted before. I’m still posting mine,” she added.

‘I pay for my own songs’
Jovial went on to state that she has always financed her own musicand said the only cheque she received from Otile was Ksh150,000 after raising concerns over payment.
“I pay for all my songs. I don’t have a lot, but I pay my dues. I only received a cheque once of Ksh150,000 in March 2023 after I complained. Kindly post the cheques you’ve sent me, please. If you do, I swear I will apologise,” she wrote.
The singer also opened up about the emotional toll she says the dispute has had on her, revealing that she once turned to Otile for help during a difficult period in her life.
“Take accountability; you’ve drained me emotionally and mentally. You told me to my face that I will never make it without you. Do you know what that did to me?” she questioned him.

She concluded by urging Otile to remain humble, adding that success means different things to different people. “I’m not perfect, but damn! I would have been far. Where are you? Because all of us are living in rentals. Please be humble! There are people for whom our wealth is good health and being able to provide for our needs,” she wrote.
Jovial’s response comes after Otile Brown shared a series of posts in which he spoke about their past working relationship. In his posts, he said he wrote and financed some of their collaborations, discussed challenges surrounding publishing income in the music industry, and said he had supported Jovial financially and personally. He also expressed disappointment over how their professional relationship ended.
