Kenya Power lists parts of 5 counties to face up to 8-hour outage on Sunday, October 4

Kenya Power has announced planned power maintenance in parts of five counties on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with some areas set to remain without electricity for up to eight hours.

The affected counties are Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kiambu and Mombasa. The maintenance will take place at different times, with the earliest outages starting at 9 am and the latest ending at 5 pm.

“Good morning. Kindly note that the listed areas will be under planned power maintenance today,” Kenya Power said on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Nairobi County

In Nairobi County, parts of Parklands will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm. The areas listed include 4th Parklands, Masari Rd, Kusi Lane, Ngao Road, Suswa Road, Wangapala Road, KPLC Staff Quarters, Diamond 1 & 2, Presidential Escort and adjacent customers.

Behind Kenya Pipeline along the railway line will also be affected from 9 am to 5 pm. The listed areas include Eastlands College, Rubis Depot, Uzuri Foods, Mogadishu Road, Olkarau Road, Pate Road, Runyenjes Road, Cera Coating, parts of Nanyuki Road and adjacent customers.

Uasin Gishu County

In Uasin Gishu County, Eldoret GK Prison will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm. Sirikwa Hotel, MUSCO Towers, County Govt of Uasin Gishu, Goshen Hotel, Cicada Hotel, Eastern Avenue, Zion Mall, Komora, St. Matthews ACK, Mol Girls’ High Sch. and adjacent customers are among the listed areas.

Kisumu County

In Kisumu County, parts of Majengo, Mbale, Chavakali and Kaimosi will experience maintenance from 10am to 5pm. The affected areas include Shoka Maize Millers, Mudete T/F, Sabatia Eye Hspt, Mbale Mkt, Serem Mkt, Majengo Mkt, Gambogi Mkt, Kitigu Goldmine, Chavakali Mkt, Iregi TTC, Kaimosi University, Makhokho and adjacent customers.

Kiambu County

In Kiambu County, Garissa Road, Makongeni and Gatuanyaga will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm. The listed areas include Kisii Est, Thika Barracks, MKU Pavilion, Landless Est, Muguga Mkt, Gatuanyaga Mkt, Gatuanyaga Pri, parts of Makongeni, Makongeni Police St, KCB Makongeni, St. Mulumba Catholic Church, Carter Oakhill Sch, Glorious Fountain Academy and adjacent customers.

Mombasa County

In Mombasa County, Shimanzi will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm. East Africa Terminals Ltd, Salvochem, Whole of Mahindi Station, Vivo Energy Kenya, East African Storage, Ola Energy, Whole of Kismayu Rd, part of Shimanzi Rd, Kitui Flour Mills Makande, Bandari Clinic and adjacent customers are listed.

Kenya Power asked customers to take note of the planned maintenance scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026. The utility said the listed areas would be under planned power maintenance during the stated hours.
