A woman, Susan Genevieve, has celebrated a man who rescued her from a burning car while onlookers stood by taking photos.

Marking nine years since the incident, she shared that her saviour, Auka Yamo, is her real-life hero.

According to her, Yamo, a complete stranger, not only risked his life to pull her out from the burning car, he carried her to the ambulance and accompanied her to the hospital to ensure her safety.

She added that Yamo is a testament that people with good hearts still exist.

“Nine years have passed but I will never forget the day you rescued me from a burning car while others stood by taking  photos and videos,” she wrote.

“You came from nowhere, took me to the ambulance and followed me to the hospital to ensure I was safe.

“Your actions reminds  me that people with good hearts still exist in this world. You were a stranger who risked his time to save my life  and I will forever be grateful that God placed you in my path.

“Nine years later, I still carry that memory in my heart. You will forever remain my Shujaa, my guardian angel and a hero I will never forget.
