A bodaboda operator has died following a hit and run incident at Chepseon area along the Kericho-Nakuru highway.

The driver of the ill-fated vehicle is said to have fled the scene, leaving the victim for dead.

“He is a known member who supplies eateries in our area,” local association chairman Sammy Bii said.

He added that the operator was on his way home at the time of the accident.

The incident was reported at Chepseon police station by local residents.

“He was rushed to Kericho Referral Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” police added.

Police in Kericho have kicked off a manhunt for the driver of the vehicle who is still on the run.
