Police officers in Kitengela, Kajiado County are investigating a case in which a 48-year-old man allegedly died by setting himself ablaze inside his house on Chuna Street.

Vincent Opon Kisangi allegedly ordered his house help to leave the house immediately before he committed the harrowing act.

At that time, Kisangi was bleeding profusely after he allegedly stabbed himself several times.

Police are also investigating the whereabouts of the deceased’s wife who left with him on Monday to an unknown location.

According to police reports, the deceased returned alone on Wednesday before committing the heinous act.

“I saw a huge fire in the neighbourhood, on calling a neighbor, he said it was coming from ‘Raila’s’ house,” Havira Masiko, a Kitengela resident recounts.

The domestic worker Ann Atieno Nyaliki, who was sleeping at the time narrowly escaped unhurt.

The deceased woke up and ordered his house help to leave the house since he did not want to harm her. He had already stabbed himself on the chin, abdomen, and the chest and was bleeding profusely. The house help took her belongings and left, 10 mins later she heard an explosion coming from the house.
