Head of public service Felix Koskei has said the country is heading in the right direction in economic recovery.

He added that President William Ruto’s government has taken the right measures to ensure that the cost of living is brought down.

Koskei explained the government subsidized the cost of food production through fertilizer and maize top dressing which is expected to drastically bring down the cost of maize flour as a long-term solution.

He called for the transformation of agriculture asking farmers to switch to modern husbandry to increase food production in Kenya.

He spoke at the Kapsabet African Inland Church station in Nandi County to celebrate and bid farewell to the retiring assistant Bishop Dr Benjamin Samoei.

The Rev. Samoe, 74, retired after 53 years of service at the pulpit in the A.I.C. in the North rift region and Nandi.

On the return of the weekly demonstrations by Azimio, the head of public service assured traders and the general public of the government’s commitment to protect their property.

“The government will use all at its disposal to protect and secure properties and lives of the innocent citizens interested in nation building,” he said.

“If we demonstrate and not working, how will the prices be brought down?”

Koskei was accompanied by Nandi governor Stephen Sang, Mosop MP Abraham Kirwa, C.A.S- Allan Kosgey, and Caleb Kositany among others.

He also asked churches to build management structures to enable priests to enjoy their retirement after serving God.

“Let pastors have health insurance, retirement benefits have SACCOs to enable them to meet their development agendas, this will go a long way to global reforms,” Koskei said.
