A tyre repairer widely known and respected in Maai-Mahiu town allegedly lost his life on a Thursday afternoon after a trailer reportedly drove over him as he slept beneath it at the local parking area.
Paul had built a reputation in the town as a humble and diligent worker who specialised in repairing truck tyres.
What Caused Paul’s Tragic Death
According to accounts shared by the Maai-Mahiu business community, Paul had reported to work as usual and completed his work that afternoon.
Feeling exhausted under the intense afternoon sun, he chose to rest in the shade beneath a nearby trailer parked in the lot.
The trailer’s driver, unaware that Paul was sleeping close to the wheels beneath the vehicle, allegedly started the engine and pulled away.
Paul was reportedly struck by the moving vehicle and died at the scene. Members of the public who witnessed the incident were in shock, unable to intervene in time.
