Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will be sidelined for a few weeks after sustaining a muscle injury during the match against Aston Villa earlier this month, the Premier League club announced on Thursday.

Mainoo’s injury forced him to miss England’s Nations League matches against Greece and Finland, and his teammate Harry Maguire is also out for a few weeks after suffering an injury during the 0-0 draw at Villa.

United provided a squad update, stating that forwards Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo, who were absent from international duty due to injury and illness, have returned to training ahead of Saturday’s home game against Brentford. Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui, who was substituted at Villa due to illness, is also back in training.

The team continues to face several injury challenges, with Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, and Leny Yoro all sidelined, adding to United’s struggles as they currently sit 14th in the league with eight points from seven matches.
