Judy from Emali Town in Makueni County has endured an ordeal that would leave many people struggling to find the strength to carry on.
After a brutal attack by her husband, which left her without both hands and one leg, she has slowly rebuilt her life and found a way to earn a living.
Her journey took her to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she received treatment following the horrific incident. But even after enduring such physical and emotional trauma, Judy refused to give up on life.
Today, she is back in business, running a small grocery kiosk in Emali, where she sells tomatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, watermelons and other household essentials.
Rather than remain defined by the violence she experienced, Judy has chosen to rebuild through the small business, serving customers who visit her kiosk.
A content creator who visited her appealed to Kenyans travelling along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa Highway to consider making a stop in Emali and supporting her business.
Motorists heading from Nairobi to Mombasa, as well as those travelling in the opposite direction, were encouraged to purchase groceries from Judy, regardless of how small the purchase might be.
The appeal was simple: every customer could make a difference in helping Judy sustain her business and continue rebuilding her life.
A simple purchase from a small kiosk can go a long way in helping someone regain financial independence and face another day with hope.
For Judy, every customer represents more than a sale. It is an opportunity to keep moving forward despite the challenges life has thrown her way.
