Police in Wamba, Samburu County on Monday arrested a man accused of stealing Ksh.500,000 from the female owner of a local fast-food restaurant.

Felix Ayiera is said to have stolen the money from the businesswoman on Sunday night at the Wamba-based hotel before fleeing and switching off his phone.

“… she lost Ksh.500,000 at her business premises and the main suspect, one Felix, had gone missing and his phone switched off,” police said in a report.

She reported the incident at Wamba police station and an investigation led to Ayiera’s arrest.

The man was nabbed aboard a car in the Kalama area along the Isiolo-Marsabit highway.

Police said he had Ksh.497,350 at the time of his arrest.
