A man accused of impersonating former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Facebook will reappear in court to enter a new plea following a plea bargain agreement with the prosecution. John Kengere is charged with creating a Facebook account named “Mike Mbuvi Sonko Rescue Loans” without authorization, committing the offense on September 15, 2023.

He will appear before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe to enter his plea.

In a separate case, two foreign nationals and a Kenyan, arrested for alleged involvement in drug trafficking, will also appear in court. The trio, apprehended in a hideout in Kasarani, were allegedly found with cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine valued at over Sh1.3 million. During the raid, anti-narcotic officers also recovered three weighing machines and various packaging materials.

The suspects were taken into custody by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), who confirmed the seizure and the pending court process. This arrest follows another recent case in Kisauni, Mombasa, where a foreign suspect was found with 200g of cocaine valued at approximately Sh600,000.
