Police are investigating an incident in Donholm, Nairobi, where a man was found dead in a suspected suicide. His body was discovered hanging from a tree at the Donholm roundabout on Thursday morning.

Authorities noted the possibility of foul play, suggesting the man may have been killed and his body staged to appear as a suicide, though investigations are ongoing.

The body was removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary. A crowd gathered at a distance, observing as police struggled to lower the body, which had a rope around the neck.

The rise in suicide cases has prompted calls for action, with police reporting at least one case daily. In another incident in Huruma, Nairobi, a man named Reuben Ngugi, 36, collapsed and died after experiencing severe coughing and nosebleeds.

He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was also taken to the mortuary for autopsy and further procedures.

In a separate tragic event in Naivasha, a 49-year-old man was electrocuted while pruning a tree branch on June 11 at Nyondia Estate. Witnesses reported that he accidentally came into contact with a live power cable, leading to his immediate death.

Police and officials from Kenya Power and Lighting were called to the scene for an investigation, and the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other inquiries. The increase in electrocution cases has led to calls for the power utility provider to implement measures to address this concerning trend.
