The Marsabit High Court on Wednesday sentenced a 24-year-old man to jail for seven years for theft.
Adan Gulume, appearing before Magistrate Simon Arome, pleaded guilty to charges of stealing foodstuff and other valuables from a local wholesale shop.
The court was informed that the suspect was also found with a laptop and various flavors of soft drinks stolen from ‘God Is Good’ wholesale shop located in Marsabit town.
His co-accused, Singoro Shano, another suspect who had also been linked to the theft, however denied allegations levelled against him.
Shano was found with a home theatre system and two mobile phones worth Ksh.55,000 believed to be the proceeds of theft from the wholesale shop.
He was released on Ksh.100,000 cash bail and the case set for mention on November 7, 2023.
