A heartfelt church celebration in Ruiru has left Kenyans talking, and not just because of the touching words spoken from the pulpit.
At Priesthood Fellowship Church, gospel singer turned preacher Rev. Mary Lincoln marked her special “Rev’s Day” on September 28, 2026, and it was her daughter who ended up stealing the spotlight.
Footage from the event, shared on TikTok, quickly went viral after many fans realised for the first time that the celebrated minister has a fully grown child.
Daughter’s emotional tribute to Mary Lincoln
Dressed in a striking outfit that drew plenty of admiring comments online, the young woman addressed the seated congregation with remarkable composure and depth of emotion.
She spoke candidly about how tough her own journey had been, revealing that she had nearly not completed high school before her mother stepped in to keep her on track.
“Like, nilikua tu chini sana,” she told the congregation, adding that her mother was always there for her even when life was at its lowest.
She went on to say that despite her mother sometimes coming home visibly worn out and struggling, she would still show up for her family with a smile, something those closest to her noticed, even if outsiders could not tell.
Her tribute was both personal and pastoral, urging those in attendance and those watching online not to underestimate what ministers go through behind closed doors.
“Ministry si rahisi wengi wengine wenu hamjui, mnatakanga kukuwa. Lakini hamjui machozi ya mamu,” she said.
She closed her address with a message directed at anyone watching on social media: “Don’t take your parents for granted.”
