Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga and his Al Duhail teammates kicked off their Qatar Stars League campaign with a victory, defeating Al Ahli 2-1 in a league match played on Friday.
Olunga, who started as the lone striker, wasted no time making an impact, finding the back of the net in just 22 minutes.

A well-executed passage of play from the back led to a cross being floated in, and Olunga, positioned between two defenders, reacted swiftly to direct the cross into the net, giving his team a 1-0 lead.
Al Duhail extended their lead in the 48th minute when Ibrahimi Diallo scored the second goal. Al Ahli managed to pull one back with a sensational strike from Islam Yassine Al-Sharif in the 54th minute, but they couldn’t find an equalizer.
Olunga, formerly of Gor Mahia and Tusker FC, is aiming for another impressive season. In the previous season, he emerged as the top scorer in the Qatari league, netting 22 goals in 22 matches, averaging a goal per game.
He also contributed three assists, making him directly involved in a total of 25 goals throughout the season.

His remarkable career has seen him score a total of 240 goals in 280 appearances for various clubs since leaving high school.
