Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has offered to bring together singer Bahati and his look-alike, popularly known as “Bahati Low Budget”, for a DNA test after meeting the man in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

Mosiria shared the encounter on Instagram on Wednesday, October 6, 2026, jokingly suggesting that the striking resemblance between the two could be put to the test through a DNA examination.

“Hapa leo CBD nimepatana na Bahati Low Budget, in short, Bahati look-alike, Bahati Bila D. I’m willing to reunite the two, the original Bahati, mtoto wa Diana, and Bahati Low Budget, Bila D,” Mosiria wrote.

Mosiria said he was willing to facilitate a meeting between the two so that they could undergo a DNA test and establish whether their resemblance could point to a biological connection.

“Since they all look alike, I want to help them do a DNA test to confirm whether this Bahati Bila D could be the brother to the original Bahati and whether they share common parents,” he added.

The remarks appeared to be made humorously, with Mosiria playing on the similarities between Bahati and the man he encountered in the CBD. Bahati has previously been known for his public family life, while the look-alike has attracted attention for his physical resemblance to the singer.

Recent DNA conversations in the spotlight

Mosiria’s suggestion comes at a time when DNA tests continue to spark conversation around Kenyan entertainment personalities. One of the recent cases involved Kenyan content creator Ciggie Johnson, who spoke publicly after DNA results relating to a child became a major topic of discussion.

After the results, Ciggie opened up about the online reaction, saying some harsh comments affected him. “People ended up being right. I’m the loser in this situation,” he said while reflecting on the experience.

His case sparked wider conversations online about paternity tests, family relationships and the pressure that comes with having private matters discussed publicly.

Unlike Ciggie Johnson’s situation, however, Mosiria’s proposal involving Bahati and his look-alike appears to have been presented as a humorous suggestion based on their physical resemblance.

‘Every youth is doing everything possible to avoid farming’

Mosiria also ended his post with a comment about young people and work, joking that many are looking for alternative ways to make a living instead of going into farming.

“Hii town, every youth is doing everything possible to avoid farming,” he wrote.

For now, there is no indication that Bahati and his look-alike have agreed to undergo a DNA test. Mosiria’s proposal has nevertheless added another humorous twist to the growing conversations around DNA tests involving Kenyan public figures.
