Manyatta Member of Parliament Gitonga Mukunji has taken on a lead role in a new skit by comedian Jaymoh Decin, which humorously highlights how some individuals beat around the bush when trying to solicit money from politicians.
In the skit shared across Jaymoh’s social media pages on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the two are seen executing their roles seamlessly, with Mukunji playing a politician similar to his real-life position, while Jaymo portrayed a Nairobi hustler attempting to seek financial assistance.
The skit starts with Jaymoh entering the MP’s office at Bunge Towers, leaving Mukunji stunned at how he managed to access the premises and reach his office.
Jaymo then goes on to claim that he is from the Mt Kenya region, specifically Manyatta, where Mukunji serves as MP, insisting that he is there to follow up on his bursary funds.
“My name is John Murume. And because, Mheshimiwa, you usually say we should not laze around, I thought I should just pass by. So my name is John Murume, and I am here to follow up on my bursary,” Jaymo said while playing the role of a typical Nairobi hustler.
However, the MP, while still flowing with the script, raises doubt about Jaymo’s claims of being from Manyatta and catches him off guard after greeting him in Kiembu, a language Jaymoh fails to respond to.
Despite this, Jaymoh continues to insist that he is a student at Manyatta Secondary School.

His gimmick is later exposed when the MP reveals that he is well-connected in the local education sector and can easily verify his claims with a single phone call.
At that point, Jaymoh changes his narrative and begins to reveal his true identity, drawing laughter as the skit builds towards its climax.
“No, do not make the call. The truth is, I quit school many years ago, and at that time, we had a different principal. But also, I am not here because of a bursary; I am here because I am sleeping hungry. I need you to help me,” Jaymoh says.
The MP then urges him to be honest about his background, noting that he has no problem offering help as long as there is honesty.
“So where do you hustle? Now, tell the truth, where are you from?” Mukunji asks.
Jaymo eventually admits that he is from Kisumu and reveals his real name as James Otieno, abandoning the earlier identity he had adopted.
