Kenyan content creator Mungai Eve has hit back at online chatter suggesting she has a secret moneyed benefactor footing her bills, and she did it with a healthy dose of humour.

On September 19, 2026, Eve posted a TikTok mirror-selfie clip, filmed inside her sleek, upscale living and dining space.

The room featured modern furnishings and a polished interior that, ironically, did little to silence the rumours it was meant to address.

The on-screen caption, written in Swahili, playfully joked about speculation that someone was “putting her up” in Nairobi, and was punctuated with a string of laughing emojis. Her response, in essence, was a breezy “natafuta” roughly translating to “I’m looking”.

Her message said:

“Hizo rumours nasikia ati kuna mtu ameniweka Nairobi si ukweli, but natafuta.”

Why are people talking about Mungai Eve?

The rumours appear to have been sparked by Eve’s noticeably lavish lifestyle at a time when she has been posting content less frequently than her fans are used to.

For a creator who built her brand on consistent, high-energy output, the slowdown in uploads combined with glimpses of an upmarket life naturally got tongues wagging on social media.

Rather than issue a formal denial or a lengthy explanation, Eve leaned into the moment, using wit to brush off the narrative without taking it too seriously.

“Mind right, company right, spirit right, money right, food right. Keeping the taste level higher,” she captioned on her TikTok video.
