A Nairobi boda boda rider known as Isaac is preparing to return to school after a Good Samaritan based in America stepped forward and paid his full college fees, following a video of his story that moved thousands of people online.
Isaac had previously opened up about being forced to abandon his education because his family could not afford school fees.
To survive, he turned to motorcycle taxi riding, but he held on to the hope that one day he would find a way back into a classroom.
That day came after content creator Shiksha Arora featured him in one of her videos, which reached an audience far beyond Kenya’s borders.
American Stranger Pays Isaac’s Full Fees
After watching Isaac’s story, an unnamed well-wisher in America contacted Arora and committed to covering his college fees in full for the courses he wished to pursue.
Arora expressed her gratitude publicly, saying the response from her community had once again proven how powerful kindness can be.
”A big thank you to my community who always supports the people I feature in my videos. And to the Good Samaritan from America, you are an angel! May you always be blessed!” she said.
For Isaac, the news was almost too much to process. His first instinct was to call his mother and share what had just happened.
”I don’t even know how to tell you this, the school I was telling you about, someone from America has paid it for me, they have paid it in full, I cant believe someone had paid and they want me to go back to school,” he told her over the phone.
Isaac’s Mother Credits Divine Intervention
His mother’s reaction on the other end of the call was one of overwhelming joy. She described the sponsorship as the hand of God and extended her heartfelt gratitude to the anonymous benefactor.
Isaac, visibly emotional, reflected on what the opportunity meant beyond just academic advancement. He said no one had ever given him the chance to show what he was capable of.
”I feel I was born ready for this day, for the day someone would offer me this chance, and now I have it. I will not misuse it. My life is about to change; I am so happy, I feel like crying,” he said.
He also directed his own message of thanks to the American well-wisher:
”May God bless the good Samaritan and him or her with good health.Thank you very much; you do not know what you have done in my life. I always wanted such an opportunity, but my parents did not have enough money.”
Isaac’s journey from the road back to the classroom stands as a reminder that a single act of generosity, from a complete stranger thousands of kilometres away, can entirely alter the course of someone’s life.
