A 16-year-old girl has succumbed to injuries sustained after being allegedly assaulted by her father in Narok South Constituency, Narok County.

Isaiah Kibet Sawe Kipsigis, aged 44 from Jerusalem Village in Narok County, stands is accused of beating his daughter, a Form Two student at Sagamian Secondary School, who succumbed to injuries while receiving medical treatment at Longisa Hospital.

Police officers from Tendwet Police Station who rushed to the scene, were met with an agitated crowd who had apprehended the alleged perpetrator and prevented a potential lynching.

A report has since been filed with the police station under Ref OB No. 04/02/10/2023, after details were received by the area Assistant Chief, Dan Kones.

Kibet has subsequently been taken into custody and is currently detained at Tendwet Police Station, awaiting formal charges.
